Notice of Regatta:

CHATHAM YACHT CLUB ANNUAL REGATTA

The oldest and largest FREE regatta on Cape Cod
A Celebration of Sailing and Friendship on Pleasant Bay

AUGUST 7-8, 2010

The following classes of boat are expected to compete:

Inner Line:
Optimist (Green, Red, White, and Blue fleets)

Middle Line:
Sunfish, Junior Sunfish (under 16), Baybirds, Beetle Cats

Outer Line:
420s, Catboats (mostly Marshall 18s), Lasers (full, radial, 4.7), Day Sailers

Regatta Schedule:

Saturday, August 7th

• 7:00 a.m
  Boat launching at Round Cove (trailer ramp) or Jackknife Harbor (beach). 420s, Optimists, Lasers and Sunfish should be launched at Jackknife Harbor and sailed or towed to CYC.
• 8:30 a.m.
  Boat Registration begins
• 9:30 a.m.
  Skippers Meeting
• 10:00 a.m.
  Harbor Start
  
  Races will be held in the morning and afternoon with a break on the CYC beach for lunch.

Sunday, August 8th

• 9:30 a.m.
  Harbor start
  
  Races will be held in the morning. Trophies will be awarded under the tent in the early afternoon after lunch.

Venue:

The racing area will be Pleasant Bay. This bay is a protected body of water that is bordered by the towns of Orleans, Harwich, Brewster, and Chatham. Directions to Chatham Yacht Club are available.

Mooring:

Come prepared to moor your boat in front of the Club using your own anchor - make sure you have adequate anchor and line. The new cut has led to significantly higher tides. If you are leaving a boat on the beach at Jackknife Harbor or CYC (such as a 420, Sunfish, Laser or Optimist), we strongly suggest that you secure to an anchor or tie it to something on shore.

Food:

Bring your own lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Drinks and snacks will be provided by CYC members each afternoon after the races.

T-shirts:

Regatta T-shirts will be available for purchase.

Registration:

There is no pre-registration. The registration form may be downloaded from the CYC website and brought completed to the club on Saturday morning.
